Are you interested in becoming a licenced smartDOG tester? In Finland over 7000 dogs have been tested using smartDOG tests.

Do you want to become a licensed smartDOG tester?

smartDOG tests are scientifically validated and are known to be associated with the dog’s everyday behaviour. The tests are very pleasant for the dogs and also for the customers, who feel that the test helps them in training and also in breeding. We already have 13 independent licensed smartDOG testers in Finland and the first international one in Italy. We are now launching smartDOG tester training in other countries.

Do you want to broaden your understanding of dog behaviour? Are you already an experienced animal trainer or researcher and want to learn more about dog behaviour? Do you want a new tool to assess dog personality and the opportunity to work either full or part time on a self-employed basis?

As a qualified smartDOG licence tester you will..

be an independent entrepreneur and decide how much you test and where you test
increase your experience in dog behaviour and have a completely different perspective on dog thinking
help dog owners understand their dog’s behaviour and personality

You would be a great addition to our tester team if..

you have extensive experience with dogs, you are not a first time dog owner. Preferably competition/training experience with multiple dogs and an added bonus if this experience is with dogs of different breeds. If you are an animal trainer, that is an extra bonus!
Good computer skills. You have your own a laptop and you will have no difficulty learning to use a new database.
University degree is a great advantage but not essential.
Customer service orientation – you will be working with people!

The cost of the training is 3900€ (+vat 25.5%) and includes training, database access, all training equipment and ongoing support❤️. The payment can be divided into 2-3 parts. The duration of the training is (depending on the student) 20-30 days, of which about 2 weeks max. are done face-to-face in the same country. The rest of the training can be done via Zoom and video material.

As a qualified tester you will work as an an independent entrepreneur, and will pay a monthly licence fee (12% of testing revenue).

SMARTDOG™- TEST packages

smartDOG™ testing is a modern science based method to test dog’s personality and cognition. Test is very pleasant for the dogs, and the owners have found the tests very useful in dog training as well as in breeding. The most popular test in Finland is COGNITION.

smartDOG™ COGNITION

With the smartDOG™ COGNITION, you get a comprehensive overview of your dog’s cognitive and personality characteristics. We recommend this as the first test for an adult dog.

smartDOG™ PUPPY

smartDOG™ PUPPY (4-7months) is meant for puppies which are already in their new homes. With this test you can get information of the dog’s personality, and you use test information to direct and plan puppy’s training.

smartDOG™ SMALL PERSONALITY ASSESSMENT

The aim of the test is to briefly assess the dog’s personality and certain cognitive traits. Test includes written report. Access to the smartDOG database is not included.
