The cognitive and personality traits characteristics of your breeding dog are important not only for you, but also for the puppy buyer. Do do you know what you’re breeding?

Many of the traits tested in the smartDOG test, such as impulsivity and the ability to understand human body language, are inherited from parents to offspring. The cognitive traits of your breeding dog are important not only for you, but also for the puppy buyer. So do you know what you’re breeding? In addition, the smartDOG test also reliably shows the dog’s reaction towards strangers and the new situation – both tests tell about dogs potential fearfulness, and correlate well with dog home behavior. 

 

More and more breeders include the price of the smartDOG PUPPY test in the price of the puppy, as the test is useful not only for the breeder, but also for the puppy owner:  test gives tips on which direction the training should focus on with the puppy.  When testing the whole litter, you get -15% discount/ dog, and you also get a comprehensive report from the tested litter.

There are several options for the breeder:

  • Book one or more test days with the tester of your choice, or ask Katriina for a suitable tester (katriina@smartdog.fi) – you can follow the litter testing yourself too. If you pay the prices of the tests yourself, the tester can invoice you directly. Puppy owners can also pay for the test, and a -15% discount will also come in this case.
  • Do the puppies live all over Finland and its difficult to find one suitable testing day for all puppy owners? You can buy gift cards for puppies (katriina@smartdog.fi), and every puppy can get tested at the nearest test location or participate in POP UP test with a gift card. If the breeder has contacted Katriina in advance, the puppy owners can also pay for the test, and a -15% discount will also come in this case.
  • You can also combine the previous two options – eg. Most come to the litter test day, and some get tested in the location of their choice.
  • (If a dog is clearly aggressive to humans (having bitten a person before), unfortunately we cannot test it for our own safety.)

For breeder’s days, you can choose either the smartDOG PUPPY test or the smartDOG COGNITION test, and together with the litter you can also test the parents – with the same -15% discount.
